A revision of Strongylurus Hope (Coleoptera : Cerambycidae : Cerambycinae) including aq description of the male genitalia

Abstract

The genus Strongylurus is revised. Three new species, S. arduus, S. bicolor, and S. dunlopi, are described. S. cretifer var. odewahni (Pascoe), 1912 and Coptopterus octomaculatus McKeown, 1940 are new synonyms of S. cretifer; Coptopterus hirsutus McKeown, 1942 is a new synonym of S. musgravei (McKeown) 1940. Lygesis ornata Blackburn, 1892 has been included in Strongylurus as S. ornata (Blackburn), 1892; S. Eumholtzi Aurivillius, 1893 is a new synonym of S. ornata. A key to the species is given and the structure of the male genitalia described.
