Any idea what this is-comes from the border area of Costa Rica and Nicaragua, but does not seem to look like any of the known Macrodontia species from that area.
All help is much appreciated. Thanks,
Andrew

Yes, I thought it was a flavipennis when I first looked at it, it all lines up, colour, form, details, etc. and I think it is a female. My collector may have given me wrong information, which is not the first time that has happened. Thanks again!

Yes it is not too its location.
Stopped on the outskirts?
The thorax and the color corresponds to M.flavipennis?
But I could be wrong.

Thanks very much Gerard, I did not think that flavipennis extended into that area.
