Oncideres senilis Bates, 1885

The lectotype shown on Bezark's website is a female. O. senilis is a grayish-white species, not just some faded shade of brown. O pustulata is a totally different color, among other differences.

There is a specimen shown on Bezark's website of a specimen from the Hovore Collection. This might be an error.

I see what you mean Claude, but not totally convinced yet. Where is your specimen from ?

Well, this one is not very far from O.pustulata (right on the picture).
The pattern on the apical third of elytrae is similar in spite of a less of ocher coloration.
The global shaping of pronotum corresponds also even if the central V configuation remains very strange.

Difficult... the preparation is very strange and the pronotum looks to be teratological...

Anyone have Any suggestions for this one ??
