Yes this one is small but some can measure eg 9 or 10 mm. I have two ex in al 7 and 8 mm. But it is already large relative to other island species

There are dozens of species of small Parmenini in New Zealand.

If you google "Beetles in a suburban environment", you can download Kuschel's paper about NZ Coleoptera. You won't find a key, but you will see how difficult this group is.
