X. asphyxa is not common. I have seen no more than 5 or 6 specimens. Specimens are usually around 38-43mm !! So, the size alone will separate it from other members of the genus.

Note that the body is somewhat more elongated, and the ratio of the length of the elytra to the length of the body is greater than the similar species of X. laticornis.
I have not seen any X. striata from Sabah, Malaysia or Borneo, however I believe there is no reason why it could not occur in southern Borneo.
