Could this be Derolus ivorensis?
I have a short series of these coming from western Togo with seizes between 19 and 29 mm (shown specimens measure 25 and 29 mm). |

I do not have any Derolus with such fringed antennae so I was not sure about this criterium.

In fact: the antennae are not fringed beneath.
These specimens, with changing grey pubescence, belong to Derolus femorellus (Chevrolat, 1858)... an appropriate name.
The species is widespread fro Sierra Leone to Zaire.
Derolus ivorensis should have antennae fringed beneath such as D. gyllenhalii (Fåhraeus, 1872). |

I know that one of the characteristics separating the different species groups is the presence / absence of fringes or setae on the ventral side of the first antennomeres. Perhaps a view on this detail can help to confirm the identification. |
