Posted - 02/12/2017 : 09:31:02 signaticollis is completely different (pronotum pattern and setose maculation of elytra and it is an "elongate species"). Then, you have the choice between maculipes and maculicollis, two close small species with only one pair of patches on pronotum and short antennas. red on legs is not obligatory, there is a wide variation in both (I have long series of both). both those of Billthyson and BBMM are the same for me (smiley on pronotum largely opened and straight thin band on elytra, in maculicollis the smiley is smaller and much more distal and band on elytra is larger and curved, among other characters). May be Billthyson can provide a better quality photo to remove any doubt ?

I think it's more likely to be Ptycholaemus signaticollis. maculipes has red joints to the legs. |
