Posted - 17/10/2015 : 13:56:02 The type locality of bicolor is Java. The photograph of bicolor (Morati & Huet; Bentanachs, et al, 2012) has black legs.
I would say it is more closely related to S. borneoensis (Ritsema, 1882).
I'll state my opinion here again that this genus is very troublesome. Some species appear to be separated only by color. S. apicalis (v.d. Poll, 1889) from the Kalimantan region of southern Borneo is much like S. ochracea (Waterhouse, 1878) from the Sabah region of northerm Borneo. I have seen at least a specimen or two of S. ochracea from Sabah which have some slight traces of the black markings that occur on S. apicalis. Unfortunately, I have not seen any Schmidtiana from central Borneo. |
