Philippines, Luzon. 33 mm.

Francesco, is it possible to find out the name of this species?

Body all over black, also beneath; intense blue highlights on the hind wings; elytra showing weak dark green reflections.
Pronotum and head covered with dense black velvet hairs.

I have got Podanı's monograph, which includes all species except for ysmaeli.
If you need it, I can scan the key for you.

I know the description of Hüdepohl. But no other document concerning this genus which seems quite poorly known in spite of the particular look of these beetles.
Thank you!

The only species recorded from the Philippines is Scalenus ysmaeli Hüdepohl, 1987.
A description and a picture can be found here.
