That this beetle is not igneicollis, we agree; nonetheless, according to Schmidt (1922) micans is very similar to ignifera but it is also characterised by yellow femora. Sorry Pierre, but I am not received your monograph from Magellanes yet... I suppose Schmidt's monograph erroneous... |

Posted - 29/11/2010 : 17:52:18 This specimen is a Chromacilla micans (Fabricius). The differences with C. igneicollis are: wrinkles of pronotum interrupted on the middle line, femora partly or completely yellowish. |

Posted - 18/01/2010 : 15:15:44 Chromacilla sì, ma è la sulcatula ignifera Schmidt, 1922, descritta della Sierra Leone. La stessa specie la incontri nel Camerun, ma col torace e la testa nero-rossastra (forma tipica). La C. igneicollis Hope ha le strie sul pronoto continue, non interrotte posteriormente da una zona liscia e lucida. |
