These splendid blue Callichromatini come from southern Tanzania (30 mm).
They were labelled "Hadromastix ruficus", a name which is totally unknown to me.
Do you know something about it?

Ah, I see... it has been a long time since I have used my latin! Ruficrus = rufus (reddish, red) and crus, -ris n. ("leg downwards the knee", which evidently designes the tibia). So Gerstaecker has choosen a very logical name...!

Yes, they are: Hadromastix ruficrus (Gerstäcker, 1855)... but I do not know why Gerstäcker selected this strange specific name (red cross).
