These splendid blue Callichromatini come from southern Tanzania (30 mm). They were labelled "Hadromastix ruficus", a name which is totally unknown to me. Do you know something about it? |

Posted - 30/05/2010 : 10:03:08 Ah, I see... it has been a long time since I have used my latin! Ruficrus = rufus (reddish, red) and crus, -ris n. ("leg downwards the knee", which evidently designes the tibia). So Gerstaecker has choosen a very logical name...! |
