10 mm. Mindoro, Philippines.
Proche de Rhaphuma quadricolor (Castelnau & Gory, 1841) comme ici, mais au moins différent par la couleur des pattes. Une variété ou autre chose ? Il faudrait trouver la publication originale. Un cadeau de Gérard. |

With several large islands, and hundreds of small islands, the Philippines' beetle fauna can be very confusing. That is one reason I really like to get specimens from there.
One of my colleagues refers to geographical color variations (as he sees with tiger beetles) as "ecophenotypes", rather than giving them a new subspecies name. Personally, based on one aberrant specimen, I believe this is just a variation of R. quadricolor. You will need more specimens to solve this problem. |

quadricolor falllax (it need not be a synonym of the preceding) praeusta
I'm not sure If I have seen the type of the first mentioned above, but it was described from Philippines - if it is true, it should be the name of the your specimen. |
