I haven't Makihara's paper...and I'm agree with you : without type, it's always the same problem.
Have you seen Gressitt's draw from X. incurvatus contorsus in longicorn of China (1951) ? For me, it's not the same species, but his description is different from 1970 !... I add this draw tonight. |

Actually I don't know what is X. incurvatus exactly. X. contortus should be clear (mayb anybody have seen the typ spms from Gahan in BMNH ?). The pict. 19 (X. incurvatus contortus) in Makihara (1981) belongs to another (not yet id sps) sps, already mentioned in Weigel (2006): Checklist and Bibliography of Longhorn Beetles from Nepal (Cerambycidae). |

Je pense que l'espèce de Nalslan et la mienne sont les mêmes, avec quelques variations, non ?
La description donnée par Gressitt m'a l'air de coller : 4 bandes noires sur les élytres, la deuxième et le troisième bande élytrale reliées au milieu ; la suture noire...

Francesco, thank you very much for this great website.
You've done amazing job on the cerambycids research. And I can image the great effort you put for this website. I've learned a lot and I will keep on researching and learning from it.
Also I would like to share longhorn photos I got and may ask for more helps.

I have one similar to this collected from Guizhou province which is a province next to southern Sichuan of China.
I guess it probably is a var or a subspecies of X. incurvatus. |

Thanks a lot to horshehden for his picture.
I have seen that something didn't work..., but now it seems clear.
I've got 6 or 7 specimens of Xylotrechus contortus, and it's a stable species on this series.
I've got probably 50 species of Clytini with no name coming from Laos, and this post gives me some courage. |
