Mexico, Baja California. 22/20/25 mm These three specimen should be Deltaspis cruentus LeConte, 1862. My question is: which way this species can be separated from Deltaspis ivae Beierl & Barchet-Beierl, 1999, an other Deltaspis very similar which can also be found in the north western area of Mexico. There are no photos of both of these species on the net - besides the ones shown on Larry Bezark's page but they seem to be confused (...??). Does someone have the original descriptions of D. cruentus and D. ivae?

Deltaspis ivae is small (12-16mm) and not so brightly colored. It is also very, very rare with almost all specimens known from California.
I have a hard copy of the original description. My pdf file is damaged.
