Is it Hyphus apicalis as well (Sabah)?
Sides of pronotum seem to me "too" smoth. |

It looks like H. subvittatus to me, as well.
Both H. subvittatus and H. apicalis occur in Sabah, but H. subvittatus is much more common in Sabah, however I would still consider both species to be very uncommon. |

Ok, hope that it works for females, as well
Note, however, that H. apicalis was described from Sarawak and I have it from continental Malaysia. |

Hyphus aurantiacus Lacordaire, 1869 Sulawesi
Hyphus lourensi Vives, 2009 Philippines
Hyphus subvittatus Holzschuh, 2006 Borneo
Your specimen should belong to the last species. |

And what about Hyphus aurantiacus Lacordaire, 1869?
The one of Vives, described from Luzon, is, as I believe, below (different punctuation of elytra etc):

It should be Hyphus lourensi Vives, 2009; there are some pictures in the Forum. |
