First is from Cameron Highlands 20 mm
Second is from Ivimka, Papua New Guinea 18 mm

Your species is curiously similar to this one... not yet identified... coming from Cameroon!

Angulated... it belongs to a primitive group:
1. Eyes finely faceted............Callidiini
-. Eyes coarsely facetted...............2
2. Ligula corneous...........Xystrocerini
-. Ligula membranous...Hesperophanini

Not very easy now... however, Callidiini are presumably absent from Malaysia.

Here is the ventral view.

Larry, could you insert a picture of the ventral side in order to observe the shape of the pro- and mesocoxal cavities?

No problem with your words Beckey, I just did not know why you were interested in the tarsi, and now I do.

Your messages are very clear.

The tarsi are not very broad, they are all slender.

Thank you for your reply and I apologize to you for my lack of words.
Prosopoeme's third segment of tarsi is very broad.
So, I am interested in the width of it.

Larry Bezark Posted - 15/10/2013 : 02:05:53
Beckey, I am not sure what to look for.

The third tarsal segment is the same length as the second segment,
but it is split all the way to the base.

Hopefully this is what you are asking.

Thanks for the input,

Larry B.

Hi Bezark, how about the third segment of tarsi?
Larry Bezark Posted - 14/10/2013 : 02:19:40
Thanks Beckey,

Not sure I agree though, the pronotum and antennae are different from those pictured as Prosopoeme.

According to http://www.cerambycoidea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14387, these belong to the genus Prosopoeme.
