No, it belongs to Cerambycinae Xystrocerini:Hyphus apicalis Pascoe, 1869.
This species was described from Sarawak (Borneo) and I know it from Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, but it is surely present in Malacca too.
In my collection I got H. aurantiacus Lacordaire, 1869 from Sulawesi, very similar to this species, but with fulvous unicolour elytra.
The confusion with Megopidini is due to the fact that Xystrocerini are probably the most primitive tribe of Cerambycinae and Megopidini are primitive among the most primitive of Prioninae.
