This variety is widespread in West Africa but largely overlaps the areal of typical specimens such these. As you can observe, my only problem is the presence of apical spines... |

Posted - 01/02/2011 : 13:36:19 It is surely a Cordylomera (Elaphidiini). The only species recorded from Ivory Coast by Coulibaly, Fédière, Léry, Kouassi & Herder (1989, p. 6) is C. spinicornis (Fabricius, 1775), but it does not seem to me this species because it should have spined elytral apex. I will add a picture of a specimen of my collection... in the meantime, you could clean yours with a little gasoline. |
