Hi all,
I have specimens of three form of Erythrus sp. from mountain areas near Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province, South Vietnam. They are quite similar to E. vietnamicus Vives, 2019 but different in body coloration. Does any one help me identify them?

Some Erythrus are variable in coloration. Besides doing the drastic measure of dissecting, look at the protuberances on the pronotum, the mwasurements of the antennae, and the shape of elytral apices.
The bottom right specimen is probably E. vietnamicus. The one on the bottom left is possibly the same.
When you collect many specimens is it easier to see the variations.

To know if you have varieties of a single species, or different species, you must start by extracting the genitalia of the males and compare them. |
