A very interesting small Lamiinae.
Antennae very thin and long, placed between eyes high on the top of head. Head flattened, eyes remarkably convex.
Size 4.8 mm.

Indeed, only for this form.
It differs from the typical one in the missing of a triangular black spot on the elytral base.

P.s. Thank you very much: first picture of a Ocularia-species in the Web.

I am really impressed. Thank you very much, Francesco!
I have only one further question. In fact, I did not notice any misspelling except the description year, which may be also some other issue. It is 1940 for Ocularia grisescens in both BioLib and Lamiaires du Monde. Is 1950 the description year for the morph uniformis?

Here both species from Uganda are recorded.
The description of this morph/species (both are by Breuning, 1950) is in Longicornia I.
I was already arrived to it, but it was only recorded from Zaire.

... misspellings are due to the difficulty in writing with the laptop of my wife (French rather than German keyboard, digital mouse...)

How!?
Francesco Posted - 04/02/2013 : 22:32:41
It is Ocularia grisescens m. uniformis Breuning, 1950... already recorded from Uganda.

Thank you very much, Francesco! Very good idea.
Already the first description of Ocularia apicalis by Jordan, 1894 seems to fit, but that species has been described from African West (Gabon) and there are 29 species only in this particular genus

Very nice!
Look among Oculariini
