Well! Pay attention that differently coloured beetles might also be different species, since Breuning also described Microcymatura holonigra Breuning, 1954 and M. flavipennis Báguena & Breuning, 1958, with probable different elytral colour. |

Interesting! - The photo is really bad; especially the colours do not appear well. Some of my specimen are not uniformly dark, the elytrae are bright on their first half (a sort of weak orange-brown spot). The left ex. on the photo has such spots. |

Correction: my ID was based on Breuning (1950); later, this genus has formed an own tribe (Microcymaturini) and other species have been described.
At the present, only Microcymatura sp. is correct. By basing on the names, it might be Microcymatura flavodiscalis Báguena & Breuning, 1958 (from Cameroon), but I have to read its description. |

It is about Microcymatura antennalis Breuning, 1950, a species incredibly belonging to the tribe Xylorhizini.
This species is widespread from Ivory Coast to Zaire and Gabon, but it is uncommon. First specimens I see. |
