Thank you for your comment, Francesco. According to Aurivillius' generic description (1927) Conobrium is characterized i.a. by the length of its prothorax being more than twice the width of its base. Besides the eyes are smaller than in the other species, the scapi are more or less parallel-sided (+/- obconical in others), the elytral punctuation is evident also in posterior part (+/- smooth in the others). The apex of elytra are (weakly) truncate (rounded in others). Finally the elytra are more or less parallel-sided, not widened distally like in the known spp. of Conobrium. I am quite convinced ity is an undescribed taxon, but I am hesitant to include it in Conobrium. Looking forward to any comment. |
