A.biplagiata Gahan looks totally different; the original drawing is here
The species described by Tian et al. is very doubful. I have found some holotypes specimens in MNHN in kind of "forgotten boxes" , but I have not seen 3 holotypes from the same area (south China / Laos, etc) and I do not kwow where they are; so I can not understand how it is possible to describe a new species- blackish like other species ! - without checking those holotypes... |

Posted - 27/06/2013 : 13:20:02 According to the work by Tian et al., on China Artimpaza in Zootaxa there is only one species, A. biplagiata, with reddish (or reddish brown) “clavate part of femora...“ in China. Did you check this species? The beetle in the photo seems to have at least hind femora reddish brown. |

Falsodebilla metalllca n. sp. Elongatus, nitidus, nigro-viridescens, griseo et pro parte dense pubescens et albo hirsutus; thorace elongato, inequale, lateraliter dense rugulosoque punctato, in disco loeve aut sparse punctato, sulcis pubescentibus munitis; elytris ad medium paulo strangulatis, apice ad suturam parum dehiscentibus; infra corpore dense pubescente; pedibus longe et sparse pilosis. Long. 10 mill. Chine : Yunnan.
I can't see on your picture if it's this species or not. May be you can ? |
