Posted - 04/01/2016 : 18:32:35 Bicon sanguineus and luctuosus are very similar in body shape. They are somewhat flattened. The Perak specimen looks more cylindrical. I hope somebody can tell us more |

Posted - 04/01/2016 : 16:11:23 By seeing the list of Malaysian species, if it is a Bicon sp. , it should be a new one, no ? I do not know more. |

Posted - 04/01/2016 : 15:58:42 Here is Bicon sanguineus from Sabah. The specimen from Perak is Tillomorphini, but I don't know the species from Sumatra, West Malaysia, Laos, etc. There are only a small number of genera described. Is it a Bicon? Well, I don't know, but it is similar.

Posted - 02/01/2016 : 15:32:19 a Bicon sp. may be ? but it seems not the only one known from Malaysia Peninsular ( Bicon sanguineus Pascoe, 1866 ) |

Posted - 22/04/2015 : 13:29:53 I doubt that it is a Dere sp. Pronotum and elytra are too narrow. Dere sometimes (maybe always) have apices of elytra externally spinose, at least in the species I have. Perhaps your specimen has that feature... I can't tell. Dere usually have much more clavate femora, and overall, their body is somewhat flattened. Perhaps it is a related genus. |
