Most probably, I do not have any specimen of T. simplex - all my specimens have granulated elytra, not punctured.
All females have 8th+9th segment ligth. Both males are defected with 8 segments only (all dark). |

Ignore antennae and check the granulation.
Colour varies (not reliable feature), for example, in T. obliquefasciatus (= T. capucinus) females have 8th+9th light, while males dark.

All my specimens of T. granulatus from Laos are exactly like the type (and this one from Tibet) : 8th and 9th antennomera are yellow. You say that "Color of antennae can be variable and often differs between males and females", could you show us such specimen ? |

Color of antennae can be variable and often differs between males and females. Both type specimens have 8th and 9th antennal segments light.
I cannot distinguish T. simplex and T. granulatus easily.
However, I would say that

shows T. granulatus - elytra with clear granules, well separated.
You cannot see anything like that at pictures in this topic - granulation is not so clear and well separated. May be, except the last one. Can you?
If you check the key, it is quite clearly written there.
However, some specimens show rather distinct costae, some not.

I think that all those specimens are Thranius granulatus Pic, 1922 like holotype here
I think that the main difference with Thranius simplex Gahan, 1894 is antennomeres 8 and 9 only yellowish like this specimen ... but I have never seen the holotype of T. simplex Gah. |

No Thranius has been recorded from Tibet, but T. simplex has been recorded from China, Bhutan, Nepal and Sikkim.
So, I think it is this species. |
