A warning to everybody who has bought specimens from the Philippines, because some specimens which I acquired through an auction, recently arrived with lots of dust under the cellophane. Today, I found 2 small, living, and very dangerous Dermestidae in the box with my Cerambycidae. |

Yep, had the same from a guy from the Philippines.
Once he sorted out his freezer the other end, he could store my items whilst he was holding them for me.
Yep a week in the freezer for the packets with dust in them, job was sorted...some of the larvae even fell out of the beetles! |

There were Dermestidae in my parcel from Philippines for sure, but I also received small Tenebrionidae (both adults and larvi) in Tanzanian material. Some of the latter can be real pests (Tribolium). |

I found live this possibly tenebrionidae in a box from Vietnam!!!Freezer kills everithing!!! |

Yes, it was the same with my purchase half a year ago. Deep-freeze all new material for 3 days, then take out and keep in warm for one day and then deep-freeze again. This will kill all larvi but I am not that sure about eggs. |
