Tell me please if October is good for collecting insects? I am interested in beetles.
Thank you.

I never collected in Laos between December and February because it is winter, dry season and cold: arround 5°C in the morning at Luang Prabang, but warmer in the afternoon.
In Laos, it is not "allowed" to go everywhere. In each village, you have to ask to the chief, talk ( a little) and employ a guide from the place (but it is cheap). When it is "no", just live.
Everywhere, be discreet. Never ask to the police or administration for collecting : they will obliged you to pay or employ a very expensive guide. Good luck.
