Whoever has a lot of journals has to store them somewhere. I have about 5000 pdf files and they require less than 5 cubic centimeters (a 128 GB flash drive) for storage space. And how does somebody know that you have even published a paper if you don't announce it on the forum or email it to your colleagues?
