Posted - 29/12/2015 : 19:39:27 Bill, you're beetle is probably a Calliprason. Here is C. pallidus Pascoe 1875. Psilomorpha spp. occur in Australia but looks like one was introduced to NZ
Song & Wang revised the genus in 2001, in Invertebrate Taxonomy. There are only 5 species so perhaps they are easy to key. I don't have the pdf. If you can get the pdf, please send it to me, otherwise I can ask a friend who works a university to get it, but may take a week or two.
