Posted - 08/10/2014 : 09:51:26 I think Gyaritodes, Nosavana, Sesiosa, Synixais, Trichemeopodus and Egesina are very close. Who can tell me the differences among them? thanks |

Posted - 21/11/2014 : 04:14:40 I am sorry, nasa, I wrote wrong, inversely:
quote: Gyaritodes, Nosavana and Egesina (...) first two belong to tribe Pteroplini but Egesina to Gyaritini.
Correctly is: Gyaritodes, Nosavana belong to tribe Gyaritini and Egesina to Pteroplini (here, you are right, of course!). |

Posted - 18/11/2014 : 05:50:50 Jacek, hank you very much. But the TITAN database still places Egesina in tribe Pteroplini, so do other databases. |

Posted - 17/11/2014 : 23:40:07 I try help. You are right that some species are similar.
Gyaritodes, Nosavana and Egesina belong to groups with normal claws (90); first two belong to tribe Pteroplini but Egesina to Gyaritini. Keys is showed by Francesco here go to 9. Look on mesocoxal cavities - if closed – Egesina, when opened – Pteroplini.
Trichemeopedus (not Trichemeopodus) belongs to tribe Acanthocinini and must have tarsal claws divaricated (opposite, 180). If You can - check it!
