What do you think of these two species?
Rhondia fragosa Holzschuh, 1998 (TL: China:Hubei(Shennongjia)
Rhondia placida Heller, 1923(TL: China:Sichuan (Tatsienlu=Kangding))
Who can give me some advice, Thanks.

How about reading the both descriptions of Holzschuh (1998) carefuly first? If you do that, you will see that:
1) oxyoma and fragosa are both orange (redbrown), with ROUNDED shoulders and different punctuation.
2) placida has sharp shoulders; but not so spiny as bispina or pugnax.
Holzschuh is not stupid and he mentioned placida (female from about the type locality) when describing bispina.
In Shennongjia, there is also maculithorax (=hubeiensis) - could it be also unicolor (completly yellow) as the Taiwanese species? |

That's the main problem with Holzschuh: no comparaison with the closest species, R. placida, as usually ! Incredible  .
Many species described by Holzschuh in the 1990s are synonymous, but how can this be proven ? |

I konw, But R. fragosa description is not detailed and is compared to Roxyoma (Fairmaire, 1889). Shennongjia has the above two, I can't identify. |

Well, you have to find good holotype pictures of both species...
R. fragosa is here, but no in color.
