Posted - 08/08/2020 : 05:39:12 Many cerambycids appear to be very difficult to detect on demand, occur unexpectedly at long infrequent intervals, and depends on the presence of deadwood of the right condition. All these factors make it very difficult to ascertain the rarity status of cerambycids in general, more so in a country like Singapore where many species are probably in decline and are no longer abundant.
I read that Makihara used so called Artocarpus trap (freshly cut branches of Jackfruit) in Kalimantan (see below). I wonder people on this forum use deadwood traps in attracting cerambycids, and if so, what are your experiences and tips? Or it will be easier/less labor intensive to use the aggregation/sex pheromone directly (available? easy to make?)

Posted - 08/08/2020 : 09:09:30 I often catch Cerambycidae on freshly broken branches naturally. During a long stay (at least a week), I think it is interesting to break a few branches of various species and to visit them regularly.
