They are not much larger than the forehead is wide.
You were right: this is Celosterna ritsemai.

The body is indeed covered with dense pubescence hiding elytral surface.

The species of the subgenus Loxotropoides should have pubescent body.
Do you observe it?

Coming back to this old topic, I think it is a Celosterna.
