One line in 2014, and nothing else ? They didn't contact you ? Strange way to work ,...If they think something, they have to prove it ! |

Posted - 13/02/2017 : 22:12:23 I came across an incredible claim by WALLIN, KVAMME, & NYLANDER (Revision of the genus Nemophas Thomson, 1864) concerning this species: Nemophas nigriceps appears to be a synonym of B. rosembergii ... and examination of the male is required.
To the benefit of these authors - who shoud have contact me before publishing - a male of this species did exists, though not in my collection (picture taken from eBay many years ago):
Another picture of this species is present on the Web:
http://az-insect.com/grafika/fotky/6b6c445ccc.jpg
You can notice that both specimens show typical characters of nigripes:
- head black (yellow in rosembergii)
- pronotal base blackish brown (yellow in rosembergii)
- elytral base hairless (yellow in rosembergii)
- legs black (yellow in rosembergii)
- 2 apical spots on elytra (a band in rosembergii)
Tomorrow, I will post the entire typical series, now I insert two pictures of rosembergii (coll. V. Nagirnyi).
