Posted - 03/09/2021 : 20:54:03 Lamia rosenmuelleri is a species that should be attributed to Monochamus sutor.
The type is lost, but the original drawing and the patria (Pulkowa, Poland, not Russia as Sama (2002: 98) claimed), where M. sartor does not exist, proves that this species is not M. sartor.
Lamia rosenmuelleri Cederhjelm, 1798 original picture
The correct combination is, therefore, Monochamus sartor urussovii (Fischer von Waldheim, 1806), as several authors correctly stated. |

Posted - 22/07/2014 : 17:50:57 Yes... but the valid name is Monochamus rosenmuelleri (Caderhjelm, 1798), which as the precedence.
According to the ADN-analyses (Cesari et alii, 2004), this taxon is actually subspecies of M. sartor (F.); therefore, the correct name should be: Monochamus sartor rosenmuelleri (Caderhjelm, 1798) |
