Achthophora sandakana Heller, 1924.

Type ici.

The two genera are very similar. Otherwise, I don't have an opinion. All I have ever seen of Stegenus is the type. I have not seen any specimens, in any material, from Sabah in 18 years. Both genera are of similar size, pronotum without lateral spine, shape of elytra is similar. For me, the antennae are similar despite the original comment by Pascoe.

Indeed, there is an error of obvious ranking. To correct.
In Titan the type is with the MNHN what astonished me too. Another error.
Does dan have your opinion it is the male correspond has the other species or a species distinct?

Yes, you are right Dan:
Stegenus has 2 transverse furrows on front of pronotum (and 2 others at base), as described by Breuning (1944).

Gérard specimen should be an Achthophora sp.

I posted a photo of the type of Stegenus dactylon Pascoe, 1857 in the Type section and also will do so here since not everybody can see the type photos.

The original photo in the top posting is an Achthophora.
Stegenus is a related species, it appears, but very different. The images in Pascoe's Longicornia Malayana are difficult to use.
