I have these specimens identified as Anoplophora macularia oshimana Gressitt. I see in Titan that it should be Anoplophora oshimana (Fairmaire, 1895). The Data are : HATSUNO, Amami Oshima, 23rd June 1971 H. Miyazaki, et, 25-VI-1974 Y. Yamawaki leg. 30 mm. a little longer and wider than both spec. A. macularia I have from China and Taiwan. Is it correct ? I don't know about Hatsuno on the labels. |

Posted - 06/02/2024 : 13:24:50 Anoplophora macularia is not present in China, except for Taiwan (cf. here); thus, you should verify your specimens coming from continental China. This species is instead widespread in Okinawa.
Anoplophora oshimana was just described from Amami-Oshima
Hatsuno is a small stretch of forest land on Amami-Oshima. |
