Borneo, Sabah - female
For now, this appears to be the same species that occurs in Laos.
Size ranges from about 18mm to about 26mm.
A photo of a male was posted by Robert previously. |

As I wrote in 2015, this was indeed a new species, which I decided to publish: Saperdoglenea collardi Gouverneur, 2023. |

I add this picture that I have found in the Web.
The yellow-orange areas emerged during the last Ice Age.
The sky-blue area (with depth up to 116 m) should be considered more prudently, since some authors speaks that lands emerged up to -80/100 m.

There are about 25 known species that occur simultaneously in Laos and Borneo. Borneo and Sumatra were connected to Malaysia by a land bridge about 18000 years ago and were connected at other times before that. Yes it is uncommon for this distribution. |

Hi Dan,
You sent me a nice specimen of this species  . But is it really Saperdoglenea gleneoides Breuning, 1964 ?
I hope to collect next April a laotian specimen to compare, because I have a problem to accept that it could belong to the same species (even it's possible).
How many sames species live in Sabah AND in Laos ? really a little... |
