Titan Base confounds two different species: Glenea (Glenea) apicalis Aurivillius, 1914 and Glenea (Volumnia) apicalis (Chevrolat, 1857).
Consequently, Glenea (Volumnia) apicalis apicalis (Chevrolat, 1857) or Volumnia guineensis Chevrolat, 1861 are wanting.
Moreover, westermannii is no subspecies, according to Adlbauer (2001), being widespread from Togo to Namibia and South Africa (from Sierra Leone to Namibia and South Africa the typical form).
This form is characterised by black (rather than brown) integuments, as the showed specimen.

Titan database proposes 2 names for Glenea apicalis: Glenea apicaloides Breuning, 1958 and Glenea (Volumnia) apicalis westermannii (Thomson, 1860).
I don't know these species. Could you tell us which one is ok ? sg. Volumnia ? |
