I received an email from P. Viktora who says the species from Vietnam should be Linda (Dasylinda) fasciculata Pic, 1902. |

My two specimens BOTH have annulate antennae, but the color is only slightly visible. Attached are ventral and lateral views.
So, L. annulicornis is in the nominate subgenus, whereas L. strbai is in the subgenus Dasylinda. What is the difference between the two subgenera?

Hello there.
Looks like my specimen of Linda annulicornis, maybe the hairs get stuck to the antennal segments?

Yes Dan, In fact, excepted for Linda javanica, I don't know other species on this genus with the scape and third article of antenae hairy.. (but I'm not a specialist on this tribe !) |

Per Viktora & Lin, 2014 ( I easily found their paper on the Internet today), this is very close (if not identical) to Linda (Dasylinda) strbai V. & L., 2014, described from 1 specimen from Cameron Highlands, W. Malaysia. My 2 specimens from Mt Sapa Vietnam are very distant, so there must be more specimens somewhere.. or perhaps this is a closely related species. |
