Posted - 07/01/2015 : 08:34:48 Hi all. I have a specimen already of Callimetopus longior in my collection as shown below.
224.35 KB Data: Male - 03-2014 - Boac - Marinduque - South Luzon - Philippines
But recently I acquired two more candidates for these two species.
324.32 KB Data: 04-2014 - Nagtipunan - Quirino - Eastern Luzon - Philippines - 25.5mm
309.56 KB Data: 04-2014 - Cabanglasan - Bukidnon - Mindanao - Philippines - 20mm
Are these both longicollis? I know the bottom one sure looks like one.
Thanks for any assistance. Ben |

mmmhm... this is the holotype male of Callimetopus longior (from Negros). Your first specimen should be a male and the second a female. The third seems to be a male (fore legs longer, last ventrite rounded at apex). According to Hüdepohl, the basal part of the antennomeres 3-5 are white (3-4 in longicollis), the elytra show numerous small spot (but no transverse pre-median band as in longicollis)... longior, longior, longicollis? |
