I agree. I have a blurry photo of the holotype of Ixais episomoides Pascoe, 1866... which is currently a synonym of Nicomia castelnaudii Thomson, 1864 { current name = Cyardium castelnaudii (Thomson, 1864) }.
Nicomia is a genus name that was pre-occupied. The type species of Cyardium is C. cribrosum Pascoe, 1866, by monotypy. I would not be surprised if there is more than one genus amongst the species of Cyardium. The shape of the body is rather parallel for some species, while castelnaudii is rather different (more pear-shaped). A very interesting group, but difficult to study. |

I have one specimen of a species which is probably in the same genus from Sabah. I guess it is a Pteropliini.
Metagnoma is a genus with a similar pear-shaped body.
