Posted - 08/01/2017 : 12:56:54 It is again Xiphotheata moellendorfii (Flach, 1890).
Xiphotheata saundersii Pascoe, 1864 is only widespread in the Moluccas and does not show ochreous pubescence on the pronotum.
The coxal hooks are typical of males of many Pteropliini such as Prosoplus (Escharodes), Niphona, etc. |

This is a specimen of X. saundersi from Bacan island. It has not this kind of horny excrescence on the prosternum ..? |
