Posted - 24/12/2014 : 14:57:10 Following Breuning, 1961. Nouveaux Cerambycidae des Collections du Muséum de Paris, without erected hairs on elytra, it should belong to sgen. Taxada
But, with the key of Daxata in BREUNING, 1963. Bestimmungstabelle der Lamiiden-Triben nebst Revision der Pteropliini der asiatischen Region II. Teil, the only possiblity with " Drittes Fühlerglied merklich länger als das vierte " is Daxata (Laodaxata) lepesmei Breuning, 1961 |

Posted - 24/12/2014 : 14:44:14 I have posted types of Leptomesosa in the special section. At mnhn, I have found a similar specimen to ours with the same mistake label "Leptomesosa cephalotes". More I look to Daxata sp., more I beleive it belongs to this genus or a close one. |

Posted - 06/12/2014 : 22:25:07 I see at least 2 possibilities : a mistake in Rondon & Breuning's book or a mistake here ?

Posted - 06/12/2014 : 18:03:00 In Titan database, I find 2 species from Laos : Daxata (Laodaxata) lepesmei Breuning, 1961 and Daxata (Taxada) laosensis Breuning, 1938. I have no pictures or descriptions. I have a male also. I will make a picture next week. |

Posted - 06/12/2014 : 17:48:23 The scape seems considerably narrower: could it be a sexual dimorphism? |
nasa |
Posted - 06/12/2014 : 17:35:57 but I believe your specimen should be Daxata (Pteropliini), please see here. |

Posted - 06/12/2014 : 17:12:57 this guy is not Leptomesosa cephalotes (Pic, 1903), please see http://cerambycids.com/longicornid/default.asp?a=fs&id=676" target="_blank">here about all Leptomesosa at present, there are only 3 species in Leptomesosa, if your specimen is Leptomesosa sp, it is a new species! |
