Questo splendido insetto può essere un Bareus?

Esatto, si tratta del Baraeus aurisecator Thomson, 1858.
Ce n'è anche qui uno, al Museo del Lussemburgo, proveniente dallo Zaire.
Da notare che la specie è stata descritta del Gabon (qui sotto il disegno originale):
