La var. submaculata ressemble au Sternotomis chrysopras; ceux-ci appartiennent à la var. sylvia.

Unfortunately, as a general rule, the constituent parts of the genitalia are, like all other morphological characters, subject to variations which can only be analysed by examining series of specimens. This method is all the more uncertain when applied to subspecies or morphs.

These I find ridiulous to identify. Is genitalia examination the only way for some species?
