Posted - 20/07/2015 : 15:54:23 I think it could be Cleptometopus basifossulatus Breuning, 1940 . I have tried to translate the short description of this species : Dem grossepunctatus mihi sehr nahe stehend, aber die flügeldecken in der vorderen Hälfte noch gröber, grubig punktiert, der apikale Randlappen viel länger, apikal sehr schmal werdend und stark zugespitzt, die Spitze divergent, der Seitenrand davor stark konkav
I note large punctuation on base of elytra, long spines at the apex, strongly concave at marges |

Posted - 12/01/2015 : 14:54:25 I just posted the holotype photo of C. filiferus (Pascoe, 1866) in the Lamiinae holotype section. It's not similar to the species above. |

Posted - 11/01/2015 : 23:17:17 Certainly the species here is not C. armatus.
I do have a pair of unidentified Cleptometopus from Sabah which completely agree with the photo of the type of C. armatus.
So, I do not know what you have. I have no photos of other holotypes of Cleptometopus. It does not look like the original illustration of C. filiferus (Pascoe). And it may be too large for C. terrestris Thomson.

Posted - 11/01/2015 : 15:41:59 I don't recognize C. armatus comparing with the type picture here: black lines and elytral apex, scape are different. That's why I have posted this picture. |

Posted - 11/01/2015 : 15:34:00 It could be C. armatus Jordan 1894, but I don't have a working knowledge of Latin in order to translate. I do have a pdf of the original paper if you don't have it.
Also, C. terrestris Thomson, 1864 must be considered, as well as the others below.
I have seen 4 different species of Cleptometopus from Sabah.
These five species are recorded from Borneo
angustrifrons Breuning, 1940b:205 [Cleptometopus] armatus (Jordan, 1894c:501) [Acroama] basifossulatus Breuning, 1940e:437 [Cleptometopus] filiferus (Pascoe, 1866b:324) [Apophrena] grossepunctatus Breuning, 1940e:436 [Cleptometopus] terrestris J. Thomson, 1864:96 [Cleptometopus]
