Thank you Xavier,
But, Pothyne subvittata Breuning, 1950 is not reported from India or what..?

Pothyne subvittata Breuning, 1950 has been described from Sitapahar R. Chittagong

..

That particular place is belong to Bangladesh, because it considered as a separate country after independence.
(Anyway if i add this species means, the total number of species under the genus Pothyne will increase to 22 and not 21).

Tank you..

21 species of Pothyne are known from India !
First, before telling it is P.laosica (which is impossible to say with your picture) you might checked all those 21 species...It means find all descriptions, and, better, see all holotype specimens.

I do not know the 3 species described by Gardner , ...and your specimen is similar to all red species with yellow lines and 2 spots ( as many species, as Pothyne stictica Breu., etc). I can not help you more, because... I have not seen all type specimens and descriptions.

Thanks Xavier, but it may be the new record for India, is it?.

Yes, it seems close to Pothyne laosica Breuning, 1968 but I do not know if this species occurs in south India.
