Could this be a pale specimen of Ichthyodes biguttula Newman 1842.
Most have a spot on each elytron so some specimens have none.

In Hudepohl's paper, he mis-stated the type depository of several specimens. The correct type deposit is Texas A&M University. Loans from there are possible, however the staff there may be able to take hi-res montage images for you.

now I can confirm I. jackmani Hüdepohl, 1989, do you have only this spm, I like to study this species more in detail.
